Club Energy Recovery (Otley)
Terms & Conditions

1. Access & Eligibility

  • Age Restriction: Access is strictly limited to individuals aged 18 years and over.

  • Membership Requirements: Access is only granted to active members with a valid Recovery Room bolt-on/membership who have completed a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) and a digital induction.

  • Booking Policy: Entry is via ClubRight QR code only. Access is strictly limited to the individual who made the booking. "Tailgating" or allowing non-booked individuals into the room is a breach of membership and will result in immediate termination.

  • Session Limits: Sessions are 45 minutes in duration. You must vacate the room promptly at the end of your slot to allow for the 15-minute maintenance/changeover window.

2. Health & Safety

Users are advised that the use of saunas and cold plunges places significant stress on the body.

  • Mandatory Consultation: You must consult a physician before use if you have high/low blood pressure, cardiac conditions, diabetes, epilepsy, Raynaud’s disease, or are pregnant.

  • Prohibited Use: Do not use the facility if you have open wounds, infectious skin conditions, or are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • The "Buddy" Recommendation: While the room is monitored via CCTV, users are encouraged to utilize the "maximum 4 people" booking allowance to ensure they are not alone in the event of a medical emergency.

3. Facility Rules & Etiquette

  • Hygiene: All users must shower using the provided facilities before entering the cold plunge baths. This is essential for maintaining water chemistry standards (PWTAG/HSG282).

  • Clothing: * Swimwear is mandatory in all visible/common areas.

    • No outdoor footwear is permitted. Flip-flops are recommended; barefoot is permitted at the user's risk.

    • Sauna: A towel must be used as a barrier between your skin and the sauna benches.

  • Food & Drink: No food is permitted. Only water in non-glass, leak-proof containers is allowed.

  • Equipment: Do not attempt to tamper with the sauna control box, plumbing, or electrical components. The sauna door must not be propped open (doing so triggers an automatic safety shut-off).

4. Equipment Specifics

  • Sauna: Use the provided ladle for the rocks. Do not use any liquids other than the water provided in the wooden pot.

  • Cold Plunges: Do not submerge your head if you are alone. Use the grip-tape steps provided.

  • Red Light Therapy: Follow the instructions on the 50-inch display for recommended exposure times.

  • Waste System: The toilet operates on a Saniflow system. Do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Damages caused by misuse will be billed to the member.

5. 24/7 Monitoring & Privacy

  • CCTV: For your safety, this area is monitored 24/7 by Gym Staff (8am–8pm) and Secure24 (8pm–8am).

  • Privacy: Frosted glass is used in changing/toilet areas to provide modesty while allowing security personnel to detect a fallen or unresponsive person. By entering, you consent to this level of monitoring.

  • Photography: You may use your phone for photos/videos provided your booking is private or includes only your guests. No filming of other members is permitted.

6. Emergency Procedures

  • Panic Panel: In the event of a medical emergency or equipment failure, press the Panic Button. This alerts Reception (Day) or Secure24 (Night).

  • Fire Safety: The room is equipped with a smoke alarm and a CO2 extinguisher. In the event of a fire alarm, exit the room immediately via the magnetic lock door (which will automatically release).

7. Liability & Assumption of Risk

  • Club Energy accepts no liability for injury caused by the misuse of equipment, failure to follow instructions on the display screens, or failure to disclose medical conditions in the PAR-Q.

  • Club Energy is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings (phones, jewelry, etc.) brought into the recovery room, particularly regarding heat or water damage.
